# @stackline/source-map-support

Compatibility-first continuation of `source-map-support@0.5.21` for Node.js
14.15.1 and newer. Prefer native source maps for ordinary modern Node files.
Use this package for verified residual requirements: `vm.runInThisContext()`,
historical register entries, the browser bundle, synchronous custom retrieval,
or direct mapping and CallSite APIs. Installation changes global stack
behavior. The package adds an ESM-host facade and first-party types while
preserving CommonJS, register, browser UMD global/AMD/CommonJS, browser ESM,
VM, and hook contracts. Its AnyMap consumer supports regular and
indexed/sectioned Source Map v3. The two browser artifacts resolve relative
paths without a Node process global and retain exact MIT notices for their
three @jridgewell components plus path-browserify.

Upstream runtime: Evan Wallace MIT. Copied `CallSiteToString`: V8 BSD
3-Clause. This is an independent continuation with no upstream, V8, Google,
or @jridgewell affiliation or endorsement.
